Both views have merrit. Since neither of my adult sons have a girlfriend I am not sure how I would feel but I am leaning towards opening up my home and just being thrilled that my son (or daughter) felt comfortable enough to ask their girlfriend/boyfriend to join us. As far as going on a trip if I were footing the bill and it was a relatively new relationship I would have to say no on that one!
